Future Airline Pilot>Recruiting?

UPDATED:  05 July 2008 (Changes from last months update in RED)

This list is updated every month with airlines that are currently (or have been) recruiting. The list includes a mixture of airlines based all over the world as well as companies that are ideally suited as starters for pilots with low hours. The list is by no means exhaustive and Future Airline Pilot cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions. If you know of any companies that warrant a posting, please contact us with details via email.  Click on the airline logo or stated link for information.

Please note that each post may have different dates throughout the text to establish the recency of information.

The information is taken at the readers own risk and if there are any parts of the text that may be misleading in any way, Future Airline Pilot cannot be held responsible for the way the reader could interperate it.

If you wish to advertise, please contact us for details on pricing. If you wish to post a job listing, please see the jobs section.

New for July 2008

Jun 08. This month, and for the following months, our industry is facing an extremely tough challenge, compared with recent times. The huge increase in the price of fuel, to over $135 a barrel, will cause many airlines and smaller companies to struggle. For those airlines who have hedged their fuel for this summer season there may be a short breather, however for those who have not, they face a challenge that is said to be more difficult than after 9/11. In order to combat this crisis, many companies may ground some of their aircraft during slower times, for example over the winter months. They will also increase the prices of tickets and reduce capacity. It is quite possible that the times of low cost travel may well be at an end.

We advise that you look very careful at company forecasts and interim profits before taking on work.
Although for some there is not the option to choose, for those who can, think carefully before moving
comapnies. There is likely to be a shortage of work and many experienced pilots may find themselves on
the market. Recruitment will most certainly slow down. The demise of Silverjet and EuroManx in May is
proof of this downturn.

Each month we will attempt to add at least one new entry into the list of recruiting airlines/agencies. See below for details

CEO has put an end to BA Franchises, after the take over of BMED earlier this year, now the remaining effects on GB Airways and Loganair. Apr 07. A large amount of politics involved within BA and its organisation at the moment. With the sale of BA Connect to Flybe and the use of BA Cityflyer name from London City Airport. "The new airline will operate 250 flights per week – up from the current 144 – to six UK and European business destinations such as Milan, Zurich, Edinburgh and Glasgow – using ten RJ100 aircraft from the BA Connect fleet. Now they have exhausted the experienced pilots on the market the only requirements are a minimum of frozen JAA ATPL, Class 1 Medical, to be able to live and work in the EU unrestricted and have a good command of the English language. Now is one of the best opportunities ever to get into BA, though their Terms and Conditions are nowhere near as good as they used to be. Mar 05. Direct Entry Pilot Scheme open once again. Long list of requirments (see link below), however, if you are short of hours or a qualification it is still worth completing the application form. If you are successful with the application and asked to attend the 2 day recruitment process, please contact me for further information. Recruiting for non rated pilots as well as Type Rated on A320/B737/B757/B767/B747/B777 for the holding pool.  230 pilots required this year.  Offering confirmed positions for both short and long haul to those in the hold pool.
